Openings

We are always open for committed applicants to do their PhD or postdoctoral research with us!

We are looking for physicists with interest in biology, biophysicists or biologists intrigued by the mechanisms behind biological procesess, with a good academic record, level of English language, and willing to work with AFM and/or  Magnetic Tweezers at the single molecule level.

Currently looking for candidates to undertake a PhD Thesis in Molecular Biophysics.

The work will consist of a research project in Molecular Biophysics using combined fluorescence and single molecule systems to study DNA repair processes, protein-DNA interaction and chromosome organisation processes. In particular we are interested in how long non-coding RNAs can affect the activity of molecular motors or modulate diverse biological processes.

We use Atomic Force Microscopy, Magnetic and Optical Tweezers and fluorescence as primary methods. In addition, we also develop our own instrumentation.

We offer a predoctoral 4 year contract with expected starting date along fall 2024.

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Biophysics, or related subjects.

– Good academic record of the degree or bachelor’s degree.

– Master’s degree studies completed by September 2024.

– High motivation for scientific research.
