BioLab

During 2017 we have started the production of our own biological materials by setting up a new molecular biology laboratory in the framework of the ERC Consolidator Grant 2015 (ERC-CoG-2015-681299). The Laboratory of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology has modern research equipment for the production of recombinant proteins, plasmids and different substrates for magnetic tweezers, optical tweezers and AFM, including two PCR systems, centrifuges, different kinds of electrophoresis systems, a visible-ultraviolet spectrophotometer and a new FPLC system. Additional equipments are available in the Institution for common use. Our biomolecular Lab is led by Dr. Clara Aicart, a qualified expert in cloning and protein expression.
