Rafa Cazorla

Phd Student. Magnetic Tweezers Technique
Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology

Rafa Cazorla obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Granada in 2022. For his undergraduate thesis, he worked on the detection of cyanotoxins using capillary electrophoresis coupled to mass spectrometry. Then, he completed a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology Applied to Biotechnology Companies at the same university. During his Master’s thesis at the Estación Experimental del Zaidín (EEZ-CSIC), he studied a transcription factor in Arabidopsis thaliana and its role in carbon metabolism. After his Master’s, he continued working at EEZ-CSIC, further developing his expertise in molecular biology. In March 2025, he joined the Moreno-Herrero Lab as a PhD student.
His current research combines molecular biology and biophysics to study genome maintenance mechanisms.
